Apixaban is an oral anticoagulant which helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots. It prevents the formation of blood clots in the legs, lungs, brain, and heart.

May Treat: Stroke prevention · Deep vein thrombosis · Pulmonary embolism

Drug Class: Oral Factor Xa Inhibitors (Phenylpiperidines)

Pregnancy: SAFE IF PRESCRIBED – Apixaban is probably safe to use during pregnancy. However, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation: CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR – Apixaban is probably unsafe to use during lactation.

Alcohol: CAUTION – Caution is advised. Please consult your doctor.

Driving: SAFE – Apixaban does not usually affect your ability to drive.
