Brexilo 2 Tablet is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat conditions like depression (as add-on therapy), schizophrenia, and agitation in Alzheimer’s disease. It helps regulate brain chemicals to improve mood, thinking, and behavior.
Take Brexilo 2 Tablet exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It can be taken with or without food. Do not skip doses or stop treatment suddenly, as this may affect symptom control. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel better. Attend follow-up visits to monitor progress and adjust treatment if needed.
Common side effects of Brexilo 2 Tablet include weight gain, sleepiness, restlessness, inflammation of the throat, and dizziness. In some cases, patients may also experience headache, insomnia, or increased appetite. Patients should seek medical attention if they experience unusual or severe symptoms.
Brexilo 2 Tablet should not be used in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis without agitation due to an increased risk of death. Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions or those at risk of low blood pressure, as it may cause dizziness or fainting. Monitor for metabolic changes such as increased blood sugar, cholesterol, and weight gain during treatment. Patients and caregivers should be alert for worsening mood or suicidal thoughts, especially during the initial phase of treatment. Use carefully in conditions that may increase body temperature or impair swallowing. Avoid activities requiring mental alertness until the effects are known.
